Born to Dutch dairy farmers in LA, lived life cross-culturally, especially in Africa , now pursuing my first love, making art.
MessageI lost another friend.
Mind you, we were not together much in recent years. Maybe a weekly call at best. But together in spirit always. That kind of friend.
And now there are no more talks—for a while anyway.
I said ‘Au revoir’ when I saw her last October, knowing cancer was raging in her body. “Til we see each other again.”
I’m so curious about what happens after the end of this life.
This painting is about shining like stars forever, brightly. It’s a metaphor, of course, but a good one!
In Africa, the goal is to become an ancestor, someone whose name is not forgotten, whose legacy lives on, someone whose good example inspires generations.
My friend continues to shine like a star to the many people who knew and loved her around the world.
Shine on, dear friend!
