Born to Dutch dairy farmers in LA, lived life cross-culturally, especially in Africa , now pursuing my first love, making art.
MessageAs a kid, summers meant going to the beach as a whole family with masses of gear—a big canopy, a grill, coolers, chairs, food galore. It was like moving in.
As a teenager, summers meant going to a certain beach where friends were certain to show up. Laying in the sun all day, trying to get a tan, music blaring, an occasional romp in the waves, a walk to the end of the pier. It was the 60s in Southern California. There was a lot to take in.
As an adult, I’ve enjoyed beaches nearby and in far-flung places, wherever life has taken me. And sometimes with the grandchildren.
Beach magic works for me at any age!
