Dark grey purple paint is scrubbed over the linen and fades upwards with a matt finish. The strip of colour at the top of the piece is thick glossy yellow and white, unmixed to give variations in colour. The rough texture of the linen becomes part of the piece, and gives substance to the unpainted, negative space.
