Created in Mike DiGuillio's, Secrets of Abstract Paintings class at Art of the Carolina's in North Carolina. The big secret was to have a signature mark that is used in every painting. I promptly forgot what his was. But what I gained from the class was to vary the size and type of lines used in your composition. We emphasized straight, curved, swirly, fat, thin and thick. Mike chose the color palette by walking from table to table with a new color every few minutes. When critiquing my paintings he stated they looked very tribal and much to my surprise and delight noted that they were ready to be framed and hung. I added rings (squished circles) and white sprinkles when I got home to complete my works.
