This piece had two titles and I believe its important to acknowledge both, The first title was Say and the second was Leaves. I will just need to use that title, Leaves, for another piece in the near future. Say won mainly due to the way I felt when I initially started the piece. It was a physical one where I scratched into the bronze acrylic and built up layers as if in a conversation. Say is about using your voice, saying what you feel, being upfront and honest, and asking for what you need. Sometimes my voice gets stuck. Lately I have learned it does more harm than good to keep your voice silent. Recently I have been saying things out loud to myself and I find that these little pep talks are much more beneficial than keeping the thoughts silent in my mind. Using your voice allows you to feel lighter and more care-free. Say has energy, it has vocals - it presents itself to be heard.
