June in Northern Utah brings heat in the valleys but cool, refreshing temperatures can still be found in the mountains. I painted this piece onsite in Emigration Canyon in an aspen grove along a bubbling creek. I have painted several paintings of aspen trees against summer skies, and I never tire of it. There is something grand and inspiring while at the same time gentle about the white trees elegantly rising to the heavens, accompanied by their shimmering, coins of leaves.
I created this piece with archival materials. The canvas is gallery wrapped around 1.5-inch-deep stretcher bars with the edges painted a green that compliments the piece. The painting is wired and ready to hang.
