This painting came free and easy. The news was filled to overflowing with protests against powerful using their power against the powerless. In particular men and the beginning of the #metoo movement. As power player after power player fell I painted. Remembering the protests from my youth in the 70s and the magnificent boldness of the color, I was struck by the boldness necessary for these women (and a few men) to speak their truth concerning the powerful.
I see this painting as one of triumph and joy. The colors and shapes dance and sing in concert with each other. Each taking their place and standing together in balance.
