ARTIST STATEMENT In the Pebble Series, I explore the concept of energy, how it manifests and transforms. According to Einstein, everything in the universe is made of energy vibrating at different frequencies. He described matter as 'frozen energy'. My idea was to visually express these concepts. I was inspired by the energy locked in some beautiful pebbles I found at the beach. I use them as material to express my thoughts on waves of energy shaking at different speeds. I create a visual spectrum of energy from the dense matter of stone to the physical energy of human life and the intangible energy of the mind and emotions.
