Found from North Carolina to Texas, Smooth Meadow Beauty, Rhexia alifanus, is a native perennial blooming from May through September. Flowers are pink to lavender, with four petals and eight anthers. Seed capsules are distinctly vase-shaped, studded with very small spines.
