Community Ecology of a Golden Eagle Eyrie

Golden Eagles (Aquila chrysaetos) build enormous stick nests on rocky cliff ledges. They frequently reuse nests in subsequent years, adding substantial amounts of woody biomass and nutrients which creates new habitat on the sheer cliff faces that would otherwise be inhospitable for many animal and plant species.
