Anatomy of the Sphenoid
- ZBrush, Adobe Illustrator
- 15 x 10 in
- Sophia Forystek
The sphenoid bone is a complex, butterfly-shaped bone located at the base of the skull, between the frontal and temporal bones. It forms part of the eye socket and the floor of the cranial cavity. Its shape and central location make it a crucial "keystone" of the skull, helping connect several other bones in the cranium.
