The Eastern Red Columbine wildflower is native to most areas of North America. It has showy, drooping, bell-like flowers with backward pointing tubes that often attract long-tongued insects and hummingbirds. This painting was completed as part of an art residency I did with Pierce Cedar Creek Nature Institute in Hastings, MI, where these flowers were widely distributed.
