Pandanus tectorius (Tahitian screwpine or Fara in Tahitian) is a coastal plant native to the Pacific. It has a number of traditional uses including using its leaves for weaving hats, baskets and mats. The aerial prop roots are used medicinally for upset stomach, chalice and rheumatism.
