This illustration was prepared to accompany a journal paper describing evidence linking the enigmatic fossil genera called "Palaeoxyris" to egg cases deposited by early Jurassic Hybodont sharks on the submerged stems of large Neocalamites plants in estuarine environments. Published in the journal GFF Volume 143, 2021-Issue 2-3 Special Issue: Swedish Paleontology.
