Morning's Emerging Glory
- Colored Pencil on Black Stonehenge Paper
- 16 x 9 in
- Rhonda Nass
As in most botanical art works, the artist hopes to convey several stages of the specific plant, so with this work I hoped to showcase the bud, the blooms, the foliage and the vine/tendrils (through the shadow). As a subordinate goal, with the preponderance of digital art in the last decades, I am intentionally introducing aspects in my drawings and paintings that indicate it being traditionally hand-drawn, in this case doing the black and white on the lower half and gradually, seamlessly, adding color in upper portion, hopefully in no way detracting from the anatomy and wonder of the actual morning glory.
