Monterey cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa) is a large evergreen conifer endemic to the central coast of California. It has only two remaining native populations, including the ones in Point Lobos State Reserve and Del Monte Forest. However, this tree is widely planted outside its native range for ornamental and timbering purposes, hence making its way to other locations in North America, Europe, Oceania, and Africa.
