Platanthera leucophaea is a federally-threatened species, and has been the subject of many decades' worth of restoration by multi-agency partnerships headed up by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. This piece was a commission to gift last year's volunteers who hand-pollinate the orchids in the Midwest.
