This piece documents the plants flowering in two different prairies during the month of August. These include monkeyflower, cardinal flower, ironweed, field thistle, obedient plant, liatris and prairie gentian. Caterpillars, a bumblebee and a giant swallowtail were also observed, photographed and painted in studio.
