Nessus Sphinx (Amphion floridensis) moths are day flying moths in eastern North America that enjoy small tubular flowers. They mimic hornets or bumble bees with their large bodies, loud buzzing, and bright yellow stripes. This type of coloring is known as "aposematic," meaning the insect is using bright colors to signify a warning that they may be dangerous, although these moths are harmless.
