The relationship between (Quercus garryana) White or Garry Oak and (Besbicus mirabilis) Speckled Gall Wasp is a parasitic one. Little damage is done to the oak except for the beautiful galls which form around eggs laid on the undersides of young leaves. These galls create both shelter and food for pupating larva.
