Illustrator Joyce Mihran Turley specializes in images of nature and science for communications, packaging, and interpretive exhibits. As a trained engineer turned illustrator, Joyce offers a unique perspective combining analytic detail with a painterly style and colorful palette.
Pursuing projects that merge art and science has guided the growth of the illustration studio at Dixon Cove Design, and led to award-winning results. Joyce has worked as a subcontractor for the National Park Service, providing interpretive exhibits for Oregon Caves National Monument. She has illustrated many nature books for children, including books written by researchers funded by the National Science Foundation.
Having lived west of Fort Collins, Colorado for over 40 years, Joyce works out of her foothills studio, conveniently observing deer, lizards, raptors, and coyotes right outside the picture windows! Extensive travels have enriched her connections with ecosystems ranging from mountain summits to salt marshes, and glaciers to grasslands. Peace is Rooted in our Nature™
