The Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe is building logjams in the lower Elwha River to accelerate the river's transition to the way rivers used to be, before they were simplified for agriculture, development and power production at huge cost to fish habitat. Big fish love big wood: The logjams already are attracting returning Chinook.
