Sycamore - Platanus occidentalis
- Color
- Richard Rauh
The fruit of the Sycamore is a ball of achenes surrounded by long tawny hairs. In this painting I have removed the fruit, to show an individual achene with and without the hairs, and the remaining receptacle enclosed in a net of tissue which origianlly separated groups of achenes.
