Lemon Leaf
- Graphite on paper
- 7 x 11 in
- Rose Convery
I drew this lemon leaf from life for my Drawing II class at New York Botanical Garden.
The objective was to develop my skills of observation, drawing, and composition and to render this flower as accurately as possible using a typical specimen.
I shot photos and made observational sketches. All sketches were made on tracing paper with each layer becoming more refined. The final sketch was transferred to Bristol and shaded.
