EGFR receptor binds ligand

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) binds to ligand and dimerizes to initiate cell signalling. EGFR is a membrane protein and receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) that binds to extracellular ligands and starts intracellular signaling. Mutations in the gene encoding for EGFR have been associated with lung cancer.
