The Birds of Prey Foundation in Colorado rehabilitates and releases injured and orphaned raptors back into the wild.
This illustration shows Sigrid Ueblacker, the founder of the center, releasing one of the bald eagles in recovery into one of the large "flight" enclosures. These enclosures omit 90 percent of bird handling and allow raptors to exercise and practice survival skills prior to being released into the wild.
