The Liber Chronicarum (or Nuremberg Chronicle) by Hartmann Schedel printed in Nuremberg by Anton Korberger in 1493, is one of the most extensively illustrated books of the 15th century. The text written in Latin by Nuremberg physician and humanist Hartmann Schedel (1440-1514) provides a history of the Christian world through the 15th century. The woodcuts on this page have been attributed to Albert Durer, godson of Korberger and an apprentice to the printing house, which some scholars accept and others question, as the dates of production may have made this unlikely.
