Native American tribes are known for using all parts of the animal. As such, crafted from the bone of a large animal like a horse, deer, or buffalo (in this case, a horse), this weapon was made by Plain's tribes, such as the Lakota, for hand-to-hand combat. Jawbone war clubs, such as this example, are used during ceremonies.
