This object has 25 pieces and is modeled on the Dome of the Rock, an Islamic mosque with a characteristic gold dome built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. The structure was completed in 691 CE, less than a hundred years after the death of the Prophet Muhammad (583-609).
