This statue from Thailand is known as a Protection Buddha. The raised right hand in the Abhaya mudra indicates protection. The left hand is in the Dhyana (meditation) mudra, and with an alms bowl in the palm, indicates renunciation. The flame emerging from the top of the head means enlightenment.
