Vintage music paper - extract from Beethoven sonatas
French and Austrian couple Jana & JS artistic journey '[is a] story above all about a couple, two people with shared passions and a desire to build together". Have had their work displayed in both urban spaces and gallery exhibitions. Inspired by the city and its constantly evolving architecture, but also by those who live and observe, they paint urban landscapes, simple architectural details and portraits in games of mirrors, transparency and implementation abyss. They use the stencil technique based on their photographic work.
Jan & JS work conveys a very unique atmosphere, seizing characters in a moment, whether they are asleep, absorbed in their own thoughts looking out a window, cuddling or laying down on the floor. They find it hard to explain what emotions they would like their audience to feel - "We always find it difficult to explain the meaning behind our work. But we give great importance to introspection, reflection, human relationships, dream, melancholy, and nostalgia …"
