This piece makes me think of the time my grandparents hosted their 50th wedding anniversary on the beach in Nantucket and suddenly there was a huge school of bluefish heading our way and everyone ran barefoot to grab their fishing poles. It was exciting and disturbing—all that activity and toothy fish mouths and splashing. A few did get caught but most just swam on their fishy way, leaving behind a core memory for my brothers and me.
