I painted over this piece exactly a year after I painted it originally--both times when I was feeling a bit sad after having moved my youngest daughter into her new college apartment. It's so interesting how these baby adults choose which things to bring, what to leave behind, what they gravitate to to make them feel comforted and happy and organized.
