Artist: Lakeem Wilson
Currently, Lakeem serves as Curator for the African American Museum's Carroll Harris Simms National Black Art Competition and Exhibition, and is the project manager for The Walls Project in Dallas, where he oversees six community mural projects in the DISD School District. He is also a fellow for the 2024 African American Museum’s Giddens Fellowship Program, chairing the Carroll Harris Simms International Art Competition, and works as the Marketing Chair for the Young Professionals Council (YPC), a committee dedicated to promoting and sustaining the museum’s legacy.
Through his art, Lakeem bridges personal and community stories, creating lasting connections. His dedication to both his craft and his community ensures his impact grows with every painting, mural and every conversation he leads.
