Artist: Kansiime Brian Lister
Kansiime Brian Lister (b. 1995) is a contemporary African artist from Kampala, Uganda, who brings Black history to life through oil and acrylic paint on canvas. With over a decade of experience, Kansiime creates powerful portraits that blend the present-day Black woman with elements of ancient times. His work often features Black women dressed in ancient clothing like the Victorian inspired attire, reimagining their stories in a historical context that celebrates their strength, grace, and resilience. Each painting serves as a reminder of the beauty and power of Black women throughout history, capturing their influence across time with a timeless style that honors their legacy.
