  • Artist: David L. Fulton

David Fulton, a visual artist specializing in oil and acrylic painting from Virginia Beach, Virginia, has a deeply personal connection to his art. His paintings depict pop culture entertainment icons and trailblazers in American history. He sees art as a journey into one’s spirit and imagination, a sentiment that resonates with many. His journey to becoming an artist was not a direct one. He first attended Hampton University, crossing Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and graduating with a Bachelor’s in Advertising.

David’s journey to becoming a painter was a testament to his passion and God's plan. His art is not just a form of expression but a way of life that he has fully embraced.

David started sharing his works in Charlotte, N.C., where he resided for several years before moving to Washington. His paintings have been featured on the walls of local galleries and exhibits in Charlotte, N.C., New Haven, Connecticut, and Washington, D.C. He has earned awards at several juried art shows. He has auctioned several original works for worthy causes, such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The Links Inc., College Scholarship Fund, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

Since relocating to Washington, D.C., he has earned various accolades, including:
 2020 Winner of the DGS Percent for the Arts
