Our island’s shoreline trees are weathered, wind-beaten, and usually lopped off at the top in a most unbecoming fashion. These straggly trees are faithful creatures, leaning tall-ish, protecting our fragile island from impending erosion.
There are always a handful of these trees on the beach, but I liked how this particular conservator stood out from the crowd.
