Oil on canvas.

From the ancient Greek lā́thō/λᾱ́θω, the name Leto is believed to mean "hidden one", or "the forgotten one". The faceless Leto is also an allusion to C.S. Lewis' Till We Have Faces. Her blue-green skin signals other-worldiness. Stitching brushwork create movement in both the background and an imposing shroud-like gold headpiece, while the depth of greens and black are set off by subtle flecks of orange and blue.
