"Ferns through Basalt" is a limited edition of hand-cut wall hangings by interdisciplinary artist, Summer J. Hart. Working in her Cold Spring, New York, studio, Summer cuts each piece by hand with a blade, guided only by a vocabulary of cuts: leaves, eyelets, barnacles, stars. Each original artwork is made from a durable non-woven paper-like material that is dust, water, mildew, and tear-resistant. Hanging hardware is crafted by Green Hill Art Services out of regionally sourced walnut.
