- Dave Cooper
A self-taught artist who developed his vision as an animator and comic book illustrator, Dave Cooper turned to oil painting in 2003, producing cartoonish scenes filled with fleshy female characters. Set against strange, gelatinous landscapes, these characters engage in a range of lustful behaviors. With his disturbing imagery, Cooper explores lewdness, hedonism, and body image in search of his own ideal of feminine beauty and sexuality. “Fashion models are utterly boring,” he explains. “Instead, my heart races at the sight of an awkward-looking girl with unique flaws and imperfections.”
