Artist statement:
"Ze-Bride" is one of a number of canvases from my "Australian Bride Series". The "Australian Bride Series" was inspired by a sojourn in Australia. I used the thematic scheme of the bride to celebrate and express associations with the primitive and spiritual nuances that permeate Australian aboriginal culture and landscape. Attempts are ongoing to integrate the aborigine with many of the absurdities of western life and culture. "Ze-Bride" is a figurative evocation that comments on the ridiculousness of tampering with indigenous and magnificent cultures to suit the wit and whimsy of the "West".
