A typical farm shed near Beechmont in the beautiful Scenic Rim area in South East Queensland Hinterland.
My inspiration for this artwork is my love of farm buildings and animals, especially horses. I grew up in the dairy farming area in Gippsland, and from an early age, rode my grandfathers horses. This is why I always feel an emotional attachment to farm buildings, and farm animals.
I learnt to paint 40+ years ago, mostly painting en plein air, then adding finishing touches in my studio. These days it is not safe for a female to paint outdoors by herself, so I regularly go on photographic trips, capturing subjects that inspire me. I then use my own photographs to paint the artwork in my studio in the Gold Coast.
A Limited Edition Print of this painting is now available through my website.
