As my day draws to a close and I sit to write this, my heart still races in memory of today’s secret escapade. Ernest – my love, my confidant – and I spent the day upon our beloved Atlantic, on the open water far from prying eyes. The rhythmic creaking of the boat’s timbers seemed to echo the beating of my heart as we spent such sacred time together. Have I ever laughed so much as today or felt so deeply for someone as I did today? No! My sweet Ern somehow seemed more... I don't know... seemed to be fully himself somehow. I didn't think my care for him could deepen! With each sweet tender kiss beneath the canvas of blue (and the canvas of cloth!) it seemed as though time itself held its breath, and the world ashore might as well have been a distant dream. How I wish the waves could carry us beyond the reach of judgment, allowing us to remain in this perfect place between sea and sky.
