A body does not disappear because it is unfinished.

In Presence, only the face, hands, and upper torso are rendered in oil; the remainder is surrendered to the natural grain of the wood. The viewer is invited to complete the figure, suggesting that absence can be as expressive as detail.

The work also questions our relationship with the naked body. The anatomy most often censored, hidden, or fetishized is deliberately left unpainted—not to conceal it, but to ask why those are the first places our eyes seek. In doing so, the painting shifts attention from the body we expect to see to the humanity already before us.

What remains is enough.
