"Japanese Knotweed" is one of my series of "Terrible Beauties"- a reference to W.B. Yeats' poem "Easter, 1916." While the Irish were unsuccessful in this Easter Day rebellion against the British, the Irish Republican movement was invigorated by the tragedy, and "a terrible beauty was born." Nature provides us with many terrible beauties.

This piece is unframed, and nicely matted to 12"x16".
