These bold perspectives of steam locomotives, captured in a nocturnal mood, convey the smell of oil, sweat and the noisy heat of these steel colossi.

The triggers for this are industrial installations, power transmission represented by light and shadow. Microworlds form a whole. An interplay of light and shadow, of lines that seem to dissolve almost spiritually in color. Surfaces vibrant in their vitality become movement and speed and they enhance the physical quality of the paintings.

These works were created after many visits to the Augsburg Railway Park.

Museum project and events

The Augsburg Railway Park offers the national railways of all EU states the opportunity to exhibit a historic locomotive (a so-called ‘ambassador’ locomotive) in the “Europa Roundhouse”. The culture of the country of origin of an exhibition is always the focus. The historical locomotives are accessible to visitors.
