Atlanta photographer Deborah Wian Whitehouse’s interest is people: her lens is always focused to capture expressions and movement. For the Helene S. Mills Senior Multipurpose Facility, Whitehouse aimed her camera to capture the energy and activity of Fulton County’s senior citizens, finding a myriad of images that symbolically reflect the diverse and enthusiastic senior population of Fulton County. Her photographs are printed as transparencies, backed by glass. The transparent nature of the materials resembles the stained glass windows that decorate churches and other places of worship.
