MessageBarry Lee is an Illustrator, Muralist & Storyteller based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lee is a creative problem solver that tells meaningful stories using a cast of colorful characters and always a dash of mindfulness & intention. Growing up with a rare syndrome called Nager's Syndrome, they spent their time drawing constantly to distract their time away from constant doctor's appointments and surgeries. Barry turned that distraction as a child to a career as an adult and he learned that “distraction” was a form of healing through creating art.
Lee's clients have included Adobe, Mailchimp, TED, Living Walls, The Atlanta Beltline, USA Today and more! Barry’s process is rooted in making sure that the work that he puts out is intentional whether that is doing extensive research for client projects or looking within his own intuition to create illustrations that resonate heavily with other’s experiences. For him, it is not just important to create work that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye but it’s also important to create work that is mindful of what the client is trying to convey. Lee also teaches virtual meditation seminars and has spoken about their experiences with being disabled and using art as a healing tool at various speaking engagements, Universities and podcasts.
