In 1893–94 Scottish Artists, George Henry and Edward Atkinson Hornel spent a year and a half in Japan, funded by their friend and art dealer Alexander Reid.
This practice sadly seems to have gone out of fashion.
However, in 2002, I did spend a week in Dunoon.
My family and I were given the use of a lovely beachside cottage by Anne Donaldson, from the Annan Gallery in Glasgow.
I was recently looking back at some sketches I did during the week and this little painting is the result.
Thank you, Anne🙏
