In Bunker/Chapel, Sganzerla transformed the symbolic perception of an uncommon space - a Second World War bunker - preserving the exterior while converting the interior into a meditative, sacred place crowned by a gold-leaf dome. The solid cement exterior protects a restrained yet precious interior that retains traces of its history, as though it had always been a place of contemplation.
